We love mums! In the lead up to Mother's Day we wanted to celebrate some of the fabulous mums from within our Vanilla Pod community.

We asked their daughters to reflect upon what makes their mum so special and share a couple of home truths, like who is the better cook/baker!

Get to know some of our fabulous Vanilla Pod mums below, and be sure to spoil your mum with Vanilla Pod this Mother's Day

Reflection from daughter Carla

What does your mum mean to you?

A loving and caring lady who shares special times with our family and is always there when I need her.

What is the most important lesson your mum has taught you?

To be confident in who you are and what you can achieve... the sky is the limit!

What does Mother's Day mean to you?

A special day to celebrate the fabulous women who brought me into this world.

What is your favourite sweet that your mum makes?

Definitely my mum's Pavlova. It's crisp on the outside and moist in the middle, topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit, it's sublime!

Who is the better cook/baker?

I could get into trouble for this answer... We actually cook and bake different styles of food, so I think we are both great at what we do. I never say no to taste testing anything mum cooks!

Reflection from daughter Lauren

What does your mum mean to you?

Mum is my best friend and I would be lost without her! I love how close we are and all the adventures we have had together.

What is the most important lesson your mum has taught you?

To always be honest and kind.

What does Mother's Day mean to you?

It's about letting mum know how special she is to us. We usually go out for a big family lunch.

What is your favorite sweet that your mum makes?

Mum makes really great fudge.

Who is the better cook/baker?

Mum is the better baker and I'm the cook! It works really well.

Reflection from daughter Meegan

What does your mum mean to you?

My Mum means everything to me. We lost my Dad a little over a year ago and Mum devoted the last lot of years caring for him. Mum has taught me how to love and care for my own family. She is the most selfless and thoughtful person I have ever met and she always puts others before herself.

What is the most important lesson your mum has taught you?

The most important thing I've learned from Mum is the value of family. Her gift of love to her family is the greatest thing she has given me. I hope I'm a fraction as good a Mum as she is.

What does Mother's Day mean to you?

Funnily enough, Mother's Day has never been big in our family. We prefer to think of every day as Mother's Day. A mother should be loved and respected every day of the year.

What is your favourite sweet that your mum makes?

She does make the most amazing lemon butter. It is requested by some Mums at the Wilston State School fete!

Who is the better cook/baker?

When I was little I used to think Mum was an amazing cook, but I think I do it much more now. I love to bake and pour over recipes when I have the time, which isn't very often. I do like to whip up a spontaneous batch of scones and they do not last long, particularly when there is good coffee, strawberry jam and clotted cream to go with them!

Reflection from daughter Tien

What does your mum mean to you?

My mother means the absolute world to me. She has always supported me and loves me to bits, I hope I can be as good a mother in the future as she has been for me.

What is the most important lesson your mum has taught you?

My mother always taught me that my opportunities are limitless. It has really encouraged me to set my sights far in life.

What does Mother's Day mean to you?

Mother's Day means a lot to me. I love taking time and effort to select a meaningful gift and card, so it gives me great pleasure to put my mum first, as she is always selflessly putting herself last.

What is your favourite sweet that your mum makes?

The yummiest sweetie that my mother makes is her Afghan biscuits - chocolate cornflake crumbly bikkies with chocolate icing and a pecan on top. They are a hit wherever we take them.

Who is the better cook/baker?

Mum is definitely the better cook and baker of the two of us, but I'm not far behind!

Don't forget to spoil mum with Vanilla Pod this Mother's Day.
