This July Carla and Scott Burns and their beloved Vanilla Pod will celebrate a milestone 10 years in business. The Cake & Deli Café located in the quaint suburb of Ascot has become an integral part of the local community. While the couple’s focus has been on forging a business that serves quality food and coffee, they have always strived to give back to the local community who support them; whether it be work with local community groups, schools or charities.

“Our staff, suppliers, and customers are like an extended family to us, and  Ascot is our little village. It’s important that our business is able to support the community that supports us,” Burns said.

A growing demand for their cake creations saw Vanilla Pod expand its cake business into a Specialty Cake Kitchen in nearby Albion in 2014. This July also marks the first birthday of the Specialty Cake Kitchen.

To celebrate their 10 year milestone, and thank their loyal customers, Carla and Scott are throwing open their doors on Saturday 18th July for a massive morning tea.

“We’d be delighted if our customers and the local community could join us to celebrate but also so we can thank them for their ongoing support,” she said.
